Muhaiminul Islam currently works at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology. Muhaiminul Islam is an experienced faculty member specializing in geoinformatics,
urban planning, environmental studies, and disaster management. With six years of expertise, he excels in spatial analysis, leveraging geospatial technologies and GIS applications.
As Project Director, Muhaiminul led impactful initiatives, including 'Public Perceptions on Urban Open Space and City Livability in Barishal, Bangladesh' and 'Integrated Water Resource Management for Drought-Affected Regions in Bangladesh' in fiscal
year 2020-2021. He actively contributes as an Associate Member of the Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP) and has served as Assistant Provost at Shahid Lt. Selim Hall, RUET, since December 2021.
His dedication lies in integrating geoinformatics into urban development, environmental conservation, and disaster management, reflecting a commitment to sustainable practices." His current project is "Urban Fire Disaster Preparedness and Safety Practices in Commercial Buildings of Rajshahi City Corporation."

Join the Urban Fire Hazard Lab as a Research Assistant and be part of a meaningful study aimed at evaluating fire disaster preparedness and safety measures in commercial establishments across Rajshahi City Corporation.
I am currently seeking 1–2 motivated undergraduate students with an interest in urban planning, disaster management, or geospatial analysis.
