The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) is one of the both oldest and largest departments of RUET. The EEE is a right mix of electrical power, electronics, telecommunication, and computer engineering. It offers four years B.Sc. Engineering degree with a provision of taking either electrical power engineering or electronics or communication engineering as the major track. It also offers postgraduate degrees i.e. M.Sc. Engineering, M. Engineering, and PhD through taught courses and major research work. It admits 120 topmost meritorious students each year in undergraduate and about 30 in postgraduate programs through very competitive admission tests. Because of its wider scope and emerging demand worldwide, admission seekers consistently place the EEE department in the top of their choice.
The department has highly educated teaching staffs. Most of the teachers have earned PhDs in EEE fields from reputed foreign universities. The senior faculties have overseas research experience and rich publication records in their respective field of research. They are rendering intellectual and professional service to the national and international societies. The EEE senior faculties also provide testing, standard making, and consultancy service to the industries in the country on request.
The department has well equipped laboratories in all major areas of EEE for making students practically sound. We regularly review the course curricula to update with the latest trends in EEE technologies. Various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are arranged to develop essential skills to excel in their future career. The EEE graduates of RUET form one of the largest networks in the world. They are working worldwide with dignity and honor and putting marks of their technical excellence.
The vision of the department is to create technology leaders in EEE who will take on the technological needs and challenges of the country in EEE fields. Our mission is to produce world class EEE engineers who will apply their talents in the real world. They will have the skills and attitudes to be responsible and thoughtful contributors to society.
